Low Voltage Technician - Entry Level Position
Job Description
Job Duties:
Professional cabling Duties (Essential Functions):
Efficiently pull, terminate, label, and test cables between audio, video, data, and control equipment
Running/fishing/terminations of low voltage wiring
Installation of TVs and TV mounts, in-wall and ceiling speakers, projectors, etc.
Wire Management
Clean installation debris after all service and installation visits
Perform full-service test after install or service visit prior to leaving a site
Perform all other duties as assigned
Record time and materials used on daily work assignment
Additional Skills would be a plus:
Working knowledge of the ANSI, TIA, EIA & BICSI cabling standards, and the National Electric Code (NEC)
Maintain cable systems by installing, repairing, programming, and upgrading cable infrastructure
Perform major and minor preventive maintenance and repairs by troubleshooting cabling system issues
Complete required paperwork including installation checklist, timesheets, service orders, vehicle inspection report, and various other logs.
Place, label, and identify Cat voice/data twisted pair cable
Disassemble equipment and inspect and test wiring to locate and repair problems
Terminate/label work-station outlets
Troubleshoot and test voice/data cable
Communicate with on-site customer contact in a professional manner Troubleshoot NVRs, IP cameras, network devices, etc.
Install and troubleshoot intrusion/fire alarm systems
Perform Fiber Termination and Installations -Perform CCTV Installation & Telecommunications Repairs
Physical Demands/Working Environment:
Must be able to lift or maneuver objects up to and exceeding 50 pounds as well as frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, walking, and standing on a regular basis while performing job duties
Includes working in an indoor & outdoor work environment
Must be comfortable and capable of overhead work while on ladders, lifts, and scaffolding.
90% at client sites / 10% at office. Environment range from construction sites to professional offices, server rooms, and Network Operation Centers.
Job Requirements:
Low voltage 1-year experience preferred but will train the right person.
Must have a valid driver’s license
High school or equivalent (Preferred)
US resident or work authorization required -Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Must be able to work 8-10 hour shifts
Must be able to climb ladders -Must know how to use hand tools and power tools
Must be proficient with terminating/testing category type and coax cables
Must be professional in appearance to customers at all times and communicate with other trades/GC/customers while on the job site
Must be willing to work in crawl spaces & attics
Be proficient and knowledgeable on terminating/testing copper cabling
Details:
Full-time job
Standard business schedule
$18-$25/hr depending on experience
